What is Truth
Truth* is an internationalist website in Detroit. We aim to build support
for working class and popular struggles, especially the global justice movement,
and for an alliance of revolutionaries within the larger movement.
We are
for:
Money for jobs, schools, and healthcare, not for war
Expand affirmative
action programs
Bring U.S. troops home now
Stop U.S. aid to unjust regimes
(Israel, Colombia, Egypt, Russia ...)
The right to self-determination for all
oppressed peoples
Repeal the Patriot Act and all anti-democratic laws;
release all unjustly imprisoned
Independent labor candidates and independent
candidates of color for all offices
We are also for a working class and
socialist revolution, in which working women and working men take over basic
resources, crush the resistance of the rich, and begin to build a new society in
which everyone has decent jobs, wages, healthcare, housing, schools, and an
opportunity to do something interesting and constructive with their lives. We
see this as a step in building a workers revolutionary democracy and a classless
society.
If you share these goals, join us!
Truth
March, 2004
*Young revolutionaries published and distributed the first number of Truth in September, 1974. "Strikewave!" said the frontpage, alongside a picture of striking workers. We published and distributed 300 numbers of Truth to workers in Chicago and Detroit from 1974 until 1994. We then became involved in other efforts, including the Labor Party, New Life, Socialism, and International Workers Unity. We resumed publishing Truth in September, 2001, but in different formats. We aim to support and encourage young workers, students, activists, radicals and revolutionaries who want to devote their lives to the struggle for the liberation of the working class and all oppressed peoples and for a classless society.
