They say:
-- Campaigning and voting for Nader in 2000 caused Bush to win the 2000 elections
-- Campaigning and voting for Nader in 2004 will cause Bush to win the 2004 elections
They hide important facts:
-- Clinton/Gore continued and deepened Bush I's policies, cutting public aid to single mothers and their children, NAFTA, war on Iraq, with sanctions that killed millions of Iraqi children
-- Gore did not seriously campaign against Bush II; he didn't even win his home state, Tennessee
-- 8 million Democrats voted for Bush; 0 Nader supporters voted for Bush
-- Bush and his supporters disenfranchised millions of voters who tend to vote against them; Bush and his supporters stole the election; the U.S. Supreme Court supported this theft; both Gore and Kerry did little or nothing to stop them; neither Gore nor Kerry supported the Congressional Black Caucus's protest against Bush's theft of the election
-- Leading Democrats, including Kerry, have supported Bush's worst policies, including tax breaks for the richest, war on Iraq, the Patriot Act, etc., etc.
The truth is:
-- Both Bush and Kerry, both Republicans and Democrats, are owned and controlled by the rich owners of the transnational corporations; they do what's best for them, not what's best for the majority
-- If you keep campaigning and voting for Republicans and Democrats, you're going to keep on getting what Republicans and Democrats have to offer - unemployment, poverty, disrespect and discrimination against working class people and people of color, war on peoples in other countries
-- If you start campaigning and voting for things you believe in, you'll start making a contribution to building a mass movement of millions that will have the power to make the changes you want
Think about it. Another world is possible. You can make a difference. Start campaigning and voting for things you believe in. Start campaigning and voting for candidates with the courage to speak out against Bush-Kerry and their policies of unemployment, poverty, and war. Join Ralph Nader, Peter Camejo, and their Independent campaign.
